Long Exposure Winter Landscapes

Sometimes long dreary winter days can really bring you down… I get it…. However, as a photographer I see days like that as opportunities. Opportunities where conditions for certain styles of images are ideal. I think these are best days to capture some black and white images with some sense of intrigue and mystery.

I loaded up my Fuji GSW 690ii with some across and went out in search of creating some silhouetted winter landscape images. I wanted to use the monochromatic feel of the environment and bare winter trees to capture some interesting landscapes.

A tripod was essential equipment for this outing as I knew exposures would be long given the low light conditions. Also, my intentions were to take advantage of the foggy conditions and create a milky flowing feel in my images by using long exposures.

All images were shot on a Fuji GSW690ii. Acros (original) at EI 80. Adox FX39II 7:00mins at 20°C.
